Patrick Wood

Patrick is an Intern Designer at Machado Silvetti and contributes to several ongoing projects, including the Wolfsonian Museum Addition in Miami and U.S. embassy projects abroad. Originally from a Virginia railroad town near to Washington D.C., he enthusiastically applies his keen interest in art and design to everything he works on.

Patrick’s approach to design combines theory, philosophy, and artistic expression with systems-oriented methods. He is also passionate about the future of architecture in virtual spaces, having led a virtual design project while in school that generated over $100,000 in revenue and brought together an international team of architects, students, and VR experts. While at UVA, he worked closely with renowned Southern American architect WG Clark and traveled to Italy’s Veneto region to study various designers ranging from Andrea Palladio to Carlo Scarpa. Outside of design, he enjoys adventures and challenges, having walked across the Iberian Peninsula, traveled to 12 countries (and counting), and skied extreme terrain in the Rocky Mountains.
