Seiee Kim has been with Machado Silvetti for 14 years, contributing to many projects including the Mint Museums, the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, The Getty Villa and the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut. Previous to Machado Silvetti, Seiee worked with Yoshiko Sato & Michael Morris Architects in New York. Seiee received her M.Arch from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design.
Sophia Zelov has worked at Machado Silvetti for 3 years and was previously a project designer and manager at Studio 27 Architecture in Washington DC. At Machado Silvetti, Sophia has worked on the Tun Razak Exchange Financial District in Kuala Lumpur and has made significant contributions to marketing efforts and office management. Sophia received her B.Arch from Virginia Tech and has recently achieved status as a Licensed Architect.
Currently, Seiee and Sophia are Project Managers for the Vietnamese-German University project, a new campus for 12,000 students in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam. This international collaborative effort has covered the Detailed Master Plan of the campus and the Phase 1 architectural design, coordination and submission of over 20 unique buildings, including Exhibition, Administration, Dorms, Library, Ceremony, Food Court, Lecture Hall, Labs, Central Plant, Sports Hall and Faculty Housing.
The Associate position at Machado Silvetti has been an integral role throughout the history of the firm. Associates bring their unique experience, outlook and interests to bear in the management and execution of the firm’s diverse projects. They are asked to provide team leadership, a contagious positive attitude and a commitment to the core values that make Machado Silvetti an international leader in architecture and urban design. Seiee Kim received a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Jeju National University, Korea in 1994, a Bachelor of Fine Art from Parsons School of Design in 1999 and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 2003. Since joining Machado and Silvetti Associates in 2003, Seiee has worked on several museum projects, including the Mint Museums in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine.
